The replica canal schooner Lois McClure, and its crew have spent part of this summer traveling up the St. Lawrence River.

The made it to Quebec in time to be guests at that city’s quadricentennial celebration. And they were warmly greeted as representatives of the region.

Lake Champlain Maritime Museum director Art Cohn says the trip to Quebec City was a once in a life-time experience. The crew is now in Montreal, and they expect to be back to Burlington by August 9th.  Cohn says they’ve had plenty of company in Montreal but nothing like the throngs of visitors that came aboard the McClure in Quebec City.
