A farewell celebration for the grand journey of the Lois McClure takes place tonight at the Basin Harbor dock of the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. The replica schooner will set sail for a round trip voyage to New York City that will last through the summer and into the fall, tracing the historic 19th century trade route that schooner cargo freighters regularly made in the days before railroad and highway travel.
