The accepted wisdom goes, if you’re going to survive winters in Vermont, you need an outdoor activity that you love – sledding, skiing, snowboarding, ice fishing. Earlier this month, the Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee held a winter skills day at their camp on Lake Morey. In one of them, Ice Fishing 101, instructor Nick Chaisson went over everything, from staying warm and drilling holes to setting tip ups and knowing when to reel the fish in.
