Hunters are encouraged to apply for their antlerless deer hunting permits online.

The deadline is next Thursday.

The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department is asking hunters to apply online to reduce data entry time and costs. Applications can also be mailed in or delivered.

The application is 10-dollars for residents and 25-dollars for out-of-staters.

The permits are for deer with no antlers or those that have antlers less than three inches long.

Hunters who win permits in the lottery are allowed to shoot one antlerless deer by muzzleloader in a designated area during the December muzzleloader season.
