Vermont State Police say a hunter in Shrewsbury has found the remains of a man reported missing more than four years ago.

Twenty-nine-year-old William "Mike" Hogan was last seen near Spring Lake Ranch, a residential treatment facility, in May 2005. Hogan, who worked at the ranch, had had medical difficulties.

Police conducted numerous searches near the ranch and pursued tips and reported sightings but could never find him. On Nov. 5, a hunter found remains in the woods in Shrewsbury that were later confirmed to be Hogan.

Sgt. Tara Thomas said Tuesday there’s nothing to suggest the circumstances of his disappearance were suspicious.
