Former Vermont Governor Howard Dean is set to appear tomorrow at a private fundraiser for Hawaii Democrats.

The $50-per-person event with the chairman of the Democratic National Committee at The Mandalay Restaurant in Honolulu follows a private fundraiser for the party yesterday.

A doctor and former governor of Vermont, Dean came to national prominence during his unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2004.

He became Democratic Party chairman the following year. His visit to Hawaii is part of a promise to visit all 50 states as party leader.

He has popularized the Democrats’ 50-state strategy of competing across the country, rather than focusing on states where the party has been historically strong.
