House honors Representatives

A truce, of sorts, was declared today in the Vermont House between Democrats and Republicans.

The House unanimously adopted a resolution honoring Representatives Cola Hudson, a Republican, and Michael Obuchowski, a Democrat.

They’ve each served 17 terms in the House – 34 years apiece.

House Republicans and Democrats have been squabbling and Speaker Gaye Symington says she believes honoring the two deans was a good way of bringing people together.

She says the ceremony on the House floor and a reception that followed was a good way of helping members of the House restore some of their personal relationships.
