(Host) The House Judiciary Committee recommended adopting same-sex marriage today.

The committee voted 8-2 in favor, with one Republican who supported the bill absent.

Legislative leaders say they expect the full House to take up the legislation on Thursday and Friday.

Governor Jim Douglas has said he’ll veto the bill. Advocates hope to attract enough votes that the Legislature will be able to override a veto.
