Home Movie Day began ten years ago as a worldwide event to promote film preservation.

The idea was to feature all day screenings of amateur films on working antique projectors.

There are now 75 venues in 16 countries that take part in the event.

The Upper Valley Home Movie Day will take place this weekend at the Howe Library in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Rich Fedorchak is a co-organizer of the event.
