New Hampshire congressional representatives Carol Shea-Porter and Paul Hodes also voted with the majority of the House to expand government-sponsored health coverage to children.

Shea-Porter spoke on the House floor yesterday, urging the Senate to swiftly pass the bill so lawmakers can guarantee the children have access to the medical care they need.

Voting yes were 249 Democrats and 40 Republicans.

The State Children’s Health Insurance Program is known as the Healthy Kids Program in New Hampshire.

In New Hampshire alone, more than 12,000 children rely on the program.
