New Hampshire Congressman Paul Hodes has won a leadership position in congressional efforts to turn to alternative energy.

He is vice-chair for membership of the House Sustainable Energy and Environment Caucus. In the post, Hodes will be responsible for recruiting additional members for the coalition.

He says creating a sustainable alternative energy policy is one of the greatest challenges our generation faces and is a matter of national security. Hodes says he looks forward to helping develop a sustainable alternative energy plan that creates jobs, reduces dependence on foreign oil, finds new technologies and preserves the environment.
