The state Division for Historic Preservation handed out checks for $186,193 in matching grants to representatives of town halls, cultural centers and churches at a Statehouse ceremony Wednesday.

The recipients range from $15,000 for a new roof and gutters on the United Church of Westford to $6,500 for repairs to the stage roof and flooring at the Hyde Park Opera House.

Others getting money include the Bennington Free Library, Alexander Twilight House in Brownington and the Vermont Studio Center’s Lowe Lecture Hall, in Johnson.
