Have you ever wandered through a local cemetery and wondered about the lives and stories of people buried there centuries ago? Sometimes the weather-worn grave stones tell bits of information, but other times you need a local storyteller to reveal the stories of those early Vermonters. We heard one such story while walking through the South Hero town cemetery with local historian John Lake. This is the Odysseus-like tale of one early settler, who lived on Grand Isle in the early 1800s:
