Two hikers who were found after missing for two days in Crawford Notch, New Hampshire say they are exhausted, relieved and thankful.

Alex Obert and Steven McCay of Arlington, Virginia, are firefighters and paramedics. But yesterday, they were the ones who were rescued.

The hikers said the weather turned on them Sunday, making it difficult to see. They had planned on snow — they didn’t expect the strong rain that fell.

They said the weather cut their visibility to zero and they ended going down the wrong side of the mountain. They didn’t realize they had made that mistake until later that day.
