High school student appointed to state Board of Education

A sophomore at Mount Anthony Union High School has been appointed to the Vermont state Board of Education.

Lindy Caslin takes up her new duties immediately. She will participate in her first meeting on the board tomorrow.

Caslin is an honor roll student and participates in three varsity sports. She also enjoys theater arts and volunteer work in her community. She was appointed by Governor James Douglas.

The state Board of Education consists of eight adult members and two student members. Student members are appointed to two-year terms.

Marissa Cormier was appointed last year and now is the ranking student on the board.
