A former health insurance executive turned critic will speak at the Vermont Statehouse on what he says is the potential danger the industry’s practices might have on health care reform in Vermont.

Wendell Potter is the former head of communications for health insurer Cigna, and will speak Thursday in Montpelier, followed by an appearance in Burlington Friday night.

Potter says he plans to talk about insurance company strategies to derail or reshape health care reform.

The address is being sponsored by Vermont Health Care for All, which advocates for single payer health care in Vermont, UVM United Academics, United Professions AFT Vermont, and Vermont Physicians for a National Health Program.
