Health Care Activist To Speak In Burlington

Just two years ago Wendell Potter was head of corporate communications at Cigna, one of the nations’ largest health insurance companies. But he walked away from the job, and now is one of the industry’s most vocal critics.

He spoke about health care reform in Montpelier at the statehouse yesterday, and will do so again tonight in Burlington.

VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb spoke with him about the future of health care in America and whether individual states like Vermont can forge their own paths to reform. And asked him why he decided to leave a highly-paid position at one of the country’s biggest health insurers.
