Lyndon State College officials are investigating a report that a student was forced to drink excessive amounts of alcohol in what is being described as a hazing incident.
A student was hospitalized last week.
Law enforcement officials have been notified.
College officials are trying to determine if the incident was a violation of the school’s student code of conduct.
Lyndon State Dean Robert Whittaker says the incident did not appear to be related to any Lyndon State athletic team.
Whittaker says a number of students had been issued in-term suspensions that prevent them from attending classes or coming on campus. He did not say how many students were involved.
