A huge coup for Howard Dean on a day when he badly needed one. Less than 24 hours after a damaging story broke about disparaging comments Dean made about the Iowa caucuses four years ago, he’s being endorsed by that state’s senior Democrat, Senator Tom Harkin.
All the Democrats contending in the Iowa caucuses had sought Harkin’s backing. Dean got it. It’s at least the second time Dean has gotten a big boost from key endorsements following negative publicity about him.
