(Host) An employee of the Hardwick Electric Department is suspected of embezzling at least $1 million from the company.
A full investigation has been launched by the department and other governmental agencies.
Rusty Valsangiacomo is with the law firm representing Hardwick Electric.
He says the department is looking at all legal remedies to recoup the missing funds.
(Valsangiacomo) "They’re doing everything they can to try to make themselves whole by looking at all avenues to recover monies lost."
(Host) Valsangiacomo says subscribers should expect the same level of customer service.
(Valsangiacomo) "No one’s going to see any interruption in service…the lights aren’t going out."
(Host) Officials suspect the embezzlement took place over a period of more than ten years.
