Hanover high exam thefts to go on trial

A trial has started for a group of teenagers charged with stealing exams from Hanover, New Hampshire High School.

Judges have rejected plea deals for the teens, who were accused of taking exam questions from locked filing cabinets at the school in June.

The deals would have required the students to plead guilty and cooperate in an investigation of cheating at the school. They also would have to apologize publicly at the school, do community service and write essays.

The trial began yesterday.
