Gubernatorial Candidates Debate Education

 Five Democratic candidates for governor will discuss the state’s educational policy in a debate at the University of Vermont tonight.

Each candidate will be asked what issues are most important to ensure the quality of education for all Vermont students and how they would address them.

State Senate President Peter Shumlin, state Senators Susan Bartlett and Doug Racine, Secretary of State Deb Markowitz and former state Senator Matt Dunne will participate. Republican lieutenant governor, Brian Dubie, who is also in the race, will not attend.

The debate will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the Silver Maple Ballroom of the University of Vermont’s Davis Center.
