Group Offers Advice On Flood Repairs

(Host) A local organization is warning flood-weary residents to avoid using risky loans or credit cards to pay for their repairs.

The Champlain Housing Trust is encouraging those without flood insurance to work with local banks or non-profits to secure affordable financing.

Emily Higgins is with the Champlain Housing Trust.

(Higgins) "There are very good programs through local banks and credit unions and also there is a statewide network of revolving loan funds through the non-profit home-ownership centers." 

(Host) Higgins says the home ownership centers can also help with with finding contractors and coordinating renovations.
