A Green Up Day discovery in the town of Ira has Vermont State Police scratching their heads, and asking for help.
Volunteers who were clearing debris Saturday found a locked safe. It’s dark gray, made of steel, with a key punch locking system and some damage — apparently the result of someone who didn’t know the combination trying to get into it.
The volunteers believed it was stolen and reported it to police.
Vermont State Police are asking anyone with information about the safe to come forward.
