The Green Mountain National Forest is expanding

The Trust for Public Land has purchased 680 acres of private land in Readsboro that will link previously unconnected parcels of national forest, conserving wetlands and wildlife habitats.

The Trust negotiated the purchase for the property with two landowners from Massachusetts.

Robert Krussman, Vermont’s state director of the Trust, says the purchase will protect water quality and increase public access to the Green Mountains.
