The spokesman for Gov. Jim Douglas is getting a new job as Vermont’s commissioner of the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.
Jason Gibbs will succeed Jonathan Wood who is becoming the secretary of the Agency of Natural Resources.
Wood says Gibbs’ policy knowledge, experience in government, communication skills and passion for Vermont’s natural resources will serve the state well.
Gibbs’ appointment comes as part of the shuffling of many top officials in the Douglas administration.
Last week Douglas was elected to his fourth two-year term.
