Jim Douglas has spent almost 40 years on Vermont’s political stage.

Beginning with his election to the Legislature just after graduating from Middlebury College, through his four terms as governor, he has been one of the state’s most enduring politicians.

But now, he’s said goodbye in the last speech he’ll deliver to the Legislature as governor.
