Vermont’s Republican Gov. Jim Douglas is endorsing the candidacy of Arizona Sen. John McCain in New Hampshire’s Republican presidential primary.
Douglas calls McCain a principled leader whose character, judgment and experience make him the best prepared to lead the country.
Douglas is planning to announce publicly his candidacy today at a campaign rally in Hanover, the day before the voting.
During his five years as governor of Vermont, Douglas has taken a moderate position and promoted fiscal conservatism.
