Girl Scout program gets young women involved in legislature

Women make up a little more than a third of Vermont’s House members and exactly a third of the senate. A legislative mentoring program sponsored by the Girl Scout Council of Vermont called ‘Girls Rock the Capital’ provides an opportunity for a new generation of women to get involved. VPR’s Jane Lindholm speaks with Carmel Quinn, director of Teen Programs for the Girl Scout Council, and Ellie Beckett, a senior at Champlain Valley Union High School and a participant in the program.
