The Vermont Secretary of State’s office says four recounts of ballots from last week’s legislative races are being sought. And more may be requested as Election Day losers cling to the hope that they might really be winners.
Recounts have been requested in House races in Bennington, Washington, and Chittenden counties, and in a Caledonia-Orange county seat.
State Representative Reginald Godin filed his petition for a recount Wednesday. He’s a Democrat who finished 72 votes behind the second-place finisher in a four-way race in Chittenden County. Godin says he just wants the recount so he’s satisfied with the result of the election.
