Four men from Brooklyn, New York, have been charged with making counterfeit $100 bills.
The U.S. attorney’s office says three of the men were arrested Thursday at a gas station in South Burlington, after several area businesses reported receiving fake bills.
Police found several counterfeit bills and a color printer in their car. More fake money, drugs and the fourth defendant were discovered in a nearby motel room.
Authorities say the men had been bleaching $5 bills and then printing the image of a $100 bill on the bleached paper.
