A Bradford Elementary School teacher accused of committing sex crimes against two young students entered innocent pleas in court on Monday.

Richard Foster remains hospitalized after a suicide attempt Sunday, one day after he was arrested and charged with several felonies.

Meanwhile, school officials in the district that includes Bradford say they are saddened and shocked by the weekend arrest of a sixth-grade teacher.

Court papers say Foster was well liked and trusted by school staff and parents alike.

A high-ranking official from the Vermont State Police and school officials will appear at a public forum this evening to talk about the case.

It’s set for seven p.m. at the Oxbow Union High School.
