A former governor of Texas is endorsing Howard Dean for president. Former Texas chief executive Ann Richards says she believes Dean is the only Democrat who’s introducing new voters to politics. Richards also says she’s convinced that Dean can defeat President Bush in the fall.
Richards has some firsthand knowledge about running against Bush. She was the incumbent Democratic governor in Texas when Bush defeated her for re-election.
