A former teacher accused of sexually assaulting two boys has pleaded guilty to the charges.

Shaun Bryer is a former fifth-grade teacher in Morrisville and Colchester and chairman of the Morristown select board. He was charged in 2009 with molesting the boys and then paying them to keep quiet about it.

Yesterday, Bryer pleaded guilty to 14 charges, including sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, and lascivious conduct with a child.

The alleged victims told investigators that Bryer molested them over a period of two or three years, mainly at his apartment in Morrisville.

A sentence of 25 years to life, all suspended but 12 years, has been recommended for Bryer, who was released on conditions.
