Former Environment Official Appointed No. 2 At Natural Resources

(Host) Governor-elect Peter Shumlin has made a couple of the final appointments to his administration.

Former environmental conservation Commissioner Chris Recchia was appointed deputy secretary of the Natural Resources Agency.

Recchia has spent more than 25 years in environmental management. That includes management roles in the Department of Environmental Conservation during former Governor Howard Dean’s administration.

Shumlin also appointed a state forester as the commissioner of the Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.

Michael Snyder has been the forester for Chittenden County since 1997.
