A former chief financial officer at Ben & Jerry’s will serve two years and three months in federal prison for embezzling $300,000 dollars from the company.

Stuart “Mickey” Wiles of Shelburne was also ordered at his sentencing in U.S. District Court to repay the money and to have two years of supervised release following his prison term.

Wiles worked at the company for four years ending in 2004. Authorities say he had company checks issued for fictitious charitable donations, legal and other professional fees.

He was charged with cashing the checks and using the money for personal expenses.
