One way to chase away the winter blues is the annual Summit School Winter Folk Festival in Montpelier.

The three day festival celebrates traditional music with concerts, dance parties and music workshops.

It’s all made possible by the non-profit Summit School of Traditional Music and Culture, whose winter semester begins at the end of January.

Executive director Mary Collins speaks with VPR’s Neal Charnoff about the unique programs the school offers.
