(Host) Governor Peter Shumlin says Vermont officials are prepared for the possibility of additional floods from rain in the next 24 hours.

The governor says the National Guard and emergency rescue crews are on standby.

He says areas that were flooded last week by Tropical Storm Irene are most in danger of flash floods.

Shumlin toured parts of central Vermont today with the deputy administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

At midday, he visited the Perley Farm in Royalton, which was hard hit in last week’s floods.
