The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is holding three public hearings around the state this week on the deer hunting season and its deer management plan.

Department officials will discuss last year’s hunting results and the prospects for the 2013 season. The department’s also seeking input from hunters about the state’s comprehensive deer management review plan.

The hearings are planned for Monday in Springfield at the Riverside Junior High School, Wednesday at the Statehouse in Montpelier and Thursday at the St. Albans Town Educational Center. The hearings will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Two more meetings are planned in May in the northeast and southwest parts of the state.
