In a campaign stop for her husband, First Lady Michelle Obama is visiting Vermont. She’ll be thanking members of the military and their families for their service and attending two fundraisers.

The presidential spouse will meet with Vermont military families in South Burlington today and is expected to announce a new military family program called Joining Force.

Then she’ll attend a fundraiser for President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center, where tickets were going for $50 to $500. That’s followed by a $5,000-a-seat fundraising dinner at the Echo Center on Burlington’s waterfront.

Vermont police are warning that traffic could be disrupted during Michelle Obama’s visit.

She’ll be traveling by motorcade, so motorists should expect delays around the Sheraton and near the Echo Center in downtown Burlington.

Travelers are advised to seek alternate routes or plan extra time between the hours of 4-8 p.m.
