A horse that fell into a well and had to be rescued by firefighters in Pittsford is expected to make a full recovery.
Fire Chief Tom Hooker says when firefighters arrived last night, the mare, a 26-year-old horse named Kyrie, was almost completely submerged in water. Rescuers used a hose with rope and a tractor to pull it out of the well.
After the horse was rescued, it lay on its side for a few minutes before standing up and walking to its stall.
She suffered a laceration to one leg, a puncture wound to her right flank and hypothermia, but is expected to recover.
