A volunteer firefighter from Vernon responded to a fire call yesterday only to learn it was his own house on fire.
David Williams’ parents, sister and daughter all escaped from the burning house and so did a neighbor renting another part of the building.
A dog also escaped but two cats and three kittens did not. No people were injured.
