This month at Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph, local actors have been doing staged readings of scripts and screenplays with gay and lesbian themes.

The readings are part of the Summer Pride festival, which concludes this weekend.

David Zak of Chicago is the festival director.  Zak also heads up Pride Films and Plays, a company working with writers and film and theater professionals to produce LGBT themes.

VPR’s Steve Zind talked with Zak about the Summer Pride Festival, and about the range of work being done by LGBT stage and screen writers.
