Farmers debate market regulations

Vermont’s Agency of Agriculture is trying to find a way to allow small farmers to sell frozen chickens at farmers’ markets, while still protecting consumers. Some farmers have criticized the agency for what they say are unreasonable restrictions imposed by its meat inspection division. They say the regulations effectively bar poultry raised on small farms from being sold at farmers’ markets.
