FairPoint Communications says if its allowed to buy the Verizon telephone landlines in Vermont it will abide by most of the conditions suggested by the Public Service Department.

And in areas where agreement is not possible, FairPoint says it has offered reasonable alternatives.

The comments came in FairPoint’s final filing with the Public Service Board, which will rule on whether the company can buy Verizon’s lines in Vermont. It was submitted Friday.

The board is being asked to impose 56 conditions on the sale.

FairPoint is hoping to buy all of Verizon’s assets in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
