Facing Delays In Danville, Residents Complain

(Host) Some Danville residents say they’re still unhappy with the disruption caused by a major Route 2 construction project.

Some residents who attended a meeting with state officials last week say the construction causes delays of up to 20 to 30 minutes.

The Danville Fire Department and Danville Rescue say construction also delays emergency responses.

The 6.6 million, three-year project will rebuild the roadway through the village and improve local infrastructure.

The Caledonian Record reports that Transportation Secretary Brian Searles says one way to ease delays would be to extend the project another year.
