At the height of World War Two Springfield, Vermont, was an *icon of America’s machine tool industry. And three generations later, a group of Springfield High School students and their mentors have spent the past year-and-a-half tapping into Springfield’s collective memory of that time.

The result is an exhibit at the town’s Miller Art Center that chronicles the Springfield’s involvement in World War II. VPR’s Susan Keese toured the show with some of its creators.
