Elks Club lawsuit will go to jury trial

The Vermont Supreme Court has ordered a trial to determine if the Elks Club Lodge in Hartford is public or private. The ruling came in the case of four women who were denied membership in the lodge. The Supreme Court said it is not clear whether the Elks Lodge is private or public – and that a jury should hear testimony and decide.
