Its enrollment now down to 11 students, a tiny school in East Haven appears headed for closing.

The town will vote Tuesday.

About 35 people turned out this week to discuss the situation.

East Haven School Board Chairman Michael Moore says enrollment in the K through 6th grade school has dropped steadily from 64 students in 2000.

Now, there are three children in sixth grade, four in fifth grade, two in second grade, one in first and fourth grade and none in third or kindergarten.

The Caledonian Record reports that voting is set for 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, by Australian ballot.
