Governor Jim Douglas is ready to unveil his proposal for chipping away at an estimated $150 million shortfall in the state’s budget for the year starting July 1.

On Tuesday, the Douglas administration will present its first "Challenges for Change" progress report in a presentation to the House of Representatives.

The report stems from the Legislature’s passage of a bill that ordered the administration to come up with a plan for action on $38 million worth of savings.

The presentation is set for noon today.
